When I got the "There you go" email I didn't notice the attached files. I thought you were responding to my comment about downgrading. As in "good idea."

I'll check these out on my DEV site. And get right back to you.

OK, in testing, the fix seems to work.

Though I'm having Admin issues in WP. Perhaps that's just me and I'm doing something wrong or not understanding how it works.

But with the fix you posted yesterday it does work in WP 3.3. I'm guessing that it would not work with 3.2.1-- so now you have to have two sets of files? One set for before 3.3 and one set for 3.3 and later. Is that true?

I'm getting this error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function _fill_user() in /home/espresso/public_html/wp-content/plugins/vbbridge/vbbridge.php on line 593

Could I ask you to send the package to mee also?

Kind regards
Lars

I realized you are working on this as a free contribution. Do you have a way we can support you (paypal contribute button for example?)

You are right and I tested it but I still get the error when using the fix:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function _fill_user() in /var/www/vhosts/******/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/vbbridge/vbbridge.php on line 593

I hoped that the package had a fix for this as well.

Understand that I took some time out of a pretty busy schedule to try and fix this, for free, so if you could PLEASE report back if this fixes the issue you are having with WP 3.3 that would be great.

See attached text file for code replacements and additions.. There are only two)

Thanks for the fix Jeff! I applied the changes as instructed and have no problems whatsoever *knockonwood*

WP 3.3, VB 3.8.7

EDIT: Unfortunately, there is one problem: editors can't login to the wordpress backend. I can with my mapped admin-account, but it seems, usergroup mapping isn't working for the rest? front end login works fine though.

Error message for editors when opening the backend: Not enough rights.

I am facing this exact problem with WP 3.3, bridge is working fine without any problem other than the issue which you stated above.

I can't even login with my admin account using this.

The admin menu comes up and says "howdy, username" like it should, but I can't access the dashboard at all.

Try downgrade WP back to 3.2.1 but get another error

Same here, working on 3.3 just can't log in as admin. Mapped usergroups and all. Downgraded to 3.2.1 seems to be working.

Same quadcrazy but have another problem when click to Convert WP Author.

I think I found all the issues with the 3.3 compatibility problem. I spent a good portion of my day off attending to it. Hope it works for everyone now. :o

(You have to re-download the package)

I haven't updated yet, been too nervous. Glad to have stopped here first. Thanks for getting the fixes in, Jeff.

If you ever get bored, it would be great to get some compatibility with a WP caching plugin.

Help :(

I installed this and updated the two files based on wp3.3 fix and now I get an error when I go to the blog or the admin page

Quote:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class WP_User_VBridge in ..../wordpress/wp-content/plugins/vbbridge/vbloader.php on line 262
Line 262 is the last line right before ?>

------------

Edit: nevermind - It looks like the current loader file already has this section of code so I deleted the code I just added and was able to access the blog again

I see that they have made a change on how they handle users in their WP_User class.. Fortunately PHP lets you overload methods so I think I have figured out a work around. I have only tested this for a little bit, but I believe it works..
