Enabling/disabling services to start on boot
 
There are a few ways to enable a program to start on bootup but if it already has init scripts installed then on many Redhat based Linux systems it is as simple as:

chkconfig <servicename> on
i.e:

Code:

chkconfig mysqld on
Setting them to off will disable them on bootup.
